  • Texas Land Title Abstracts: This database contains abstracts of original titles located in the archives of the Texas General Land Office in Austin, Texas.
  • Texas Birth Index, 1903-1997: This database is an index to over 15 million births recorded in Texas between 1903 and 1997
  • TX Marriage Collection, 1814-1909 & 1966-2002: This database is a collection of Texas marriage indexes covering various years and counties. To see specifically what is included in this database (counties and years covered), please see the bottom of this page.
  • Texas Divorce Index, 1968-2002: This database is an index to approximately 2.9 million divorces that were filed in Texas from 1968-2002.
  • Texas Deaths, 1964-98: This index lists persons who died in the state of Texas between 1964 and 1998 and was provided by the Texas Department of Health.
  • Atlantic Ports, Gulf Coasts, and Great Lakes Passenger Lists, Roll 3: Galveston Texas 1846-1871: These records begin in 1846, a year after the annexation of Texas by the United States. More than 133,000 immigrants disembarked at the port of Galveston, Texas, between 1846 and 1948. This database includes most of the 19th Century passenger lists.
  • Galveston Passenger Lists, 1896-1948: This database is an index to the passenger lists of ships arriving from foreign ports at the port of Galveston, Texas and the subports of Houston, Brownsville, Port Arthur, Sabine, and Texas City, Texas, from 1896-1948.

Texas Maps (See Also Map Information for other States) - The General Land Office houses original plat maps for the state. The Texas State Library, archives division, maintains an excellent collection of Texas maps. Original, photocopies, and compiled maps include general state, county survey, road and highway, United States Geological Survey, coastal and nautical, street, town plats, and Birdseye maps with card index to the collection, arranged by date or location. James M. Day's Maps of Texas, 1527-1900: The Map Collection of the Texas State Archives. (Austin: Pemberton Press, 1964) describes maps in the collection acquired prior to 1965.
